Haunted Happenings Around the Region

Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce picks the top Halloween events to celebrate the spooky and spectacular within the Long Beach Island Region. It is time to clear the calendars and schedule in a harvest of unique October full moon fun. These event organizers have put safety protocols in place to align with COVID-19 precautions.

Fall Fireworks at Fantasy Island – October 10 at 8pm! Kick off the spookiest season of the year under a night sky lit with a colorful firework display. Fantasy Island Amusement Park ends the season with unlimited rides for $25 per rider.

Halloween Fun Fest – at Fantasy Island Amusement Park in Beach Haven *both dates are now at capacity*
Friday, October 9 from 5pm – 9pm and October 11 1pm to 4 pm Family festivities will include a costume contest*, trick-or-treat trail, monster mash dance party, face painting, pumpkin patch and more! The arcade and select rides and outdoor games will also be open. All guests who wish to participate in the costume contest will need to visit the registration table onsite at the park on October 19th between 1pm-3pm and register for the category they wish to compete in. The winners will be announced at 4pm and winners must be present to win. Select rides, outdoor games and arcade will be open at cost

Mini Fall Festival at Birdy’s Cafe & Artisan Market – October 17, 7am – 3pm Harvey Cedars.
$20 per person for a pumpkin and paint palette. Pumpkin painting,  S’mores bar, Specialty fall drinks menu, and Complimentary orange juice when you BYOB for brunch. Please call ahead to RSVP 609-661-1586.

Family Fallfest to support the Hunger Foundation – October 17 3 to 7pm – Eagleswood
Donations appreciated for this family friendly afternoon out with opportunities to create fall craft, pumpkin painting, play games, enjoy music and fire pit fables at Sundown located at Calloway’s Range Bar.

Boo”at Rides at the Tuckerton Seaport – October 17. 18. 19 & 24. 25. 26 Take a special Halloween themed family friendly boat ride along the Tuckerton Creek for a new non scary treat. Reservations are $12.50 per person and includes a one hour tour including Jersey Shore and Pineland lore, photo opps and goody bags for kids. Reservations are available on line at www.tuckertonseaport.org COVID 19 Masks and social distance protocols required.

Operation Halloween – Zombie Outbreak October 23 and 24 beginning after dark at the Citta Boy Scout Reservation Packed full of frights, this year will focus on a socially distanced scare fest hosted by Southern Ocean Rotary and the Jersey Shore Boy Scouts. Enjoy a fall evening walk through the haunted path through mazes of the scariest scenes in the Jersey Pine Barrens where plenty of screams await. Tickets are available for $15 on site. 7 pm to 10pm Brookville Road, Barnegat. Not suitable for young children

LBI Museum’s Annual Ghost Fest & Haunted Museum Saturday October 24 Beach Haven From crafts to local legends, do not miss this family fun day to support the LBI Historical Society. Even the Jersey Devil will be there for a 3pm appearance!

Undeadly Trail at Gille Park in Lacey – October 24 & 25 – This drive thru trail will go from silly to spooky to get you in the true Halloween spirit. The cost is $12 per carload with pre ordered timeslots between 6pm to 10pm. Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play brings on the suspense at Surflight Theatre October 24, 30 & 31 7:30pm shows. Take it to the edge of your seat inside the Surflight Auditorium for a triple feature and all the creepy feels that a “Good Evening” with Alfred Hitchcock can bring to get you ready for Halloween. Halloween Afternoon Nature Walk at Cloverdale Farm County Park in Barnegat. Join Park staff for a walk among the bogs and forests for approximately 1 mile, dress for the weather. Meet at Pavilion at Clover date on Saturday October 31 for 2 to 3pm hike for ages 9 to adult. Free with maximum of 8 people

Halloween Ice Cream Costume Party at Surflight Theatre in Beach Haven on October 31 at 1pm. Take the little ghosts and ghouls for some Halloween fun with music, singing and costumed characters on the Showplace Patio with socially distanced table seating. Singing characters will entertain you while enjoying ice cream treats! Tickets are $15 per person to benefit Surflight’s Education Fund. Contact Box office to purchase.
