American Cancer Society's Tides of Change Gala 2010 presents Casino Night~ The Tides of Change Gala will be held on the 26th of March at Lake Terrace. The Tides of Change Gala is organized by a committee of approximately 20 volunteers who, along with ACS staff, tirelessly devote their time and energy all year long to make this annual event a success. The event is attended by the area's most prominent medical and business professionals as well as social and political leaders of the community. To support a most worthwhile cause - THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY. Proceeds go directly to fund services to help local cancer patients and their families, programs for cancer prevention and early detection, as well as national lifesaving research projects. The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey is pleased to announce that the National Association for Interpretation Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) program, a high quality national training and certification program designed for anyone who delivers interpretive programs to the public in any field, will be offered this spring. The certification program combines both the theoretical foundations of the profession with practical skills in delivering quality interpretive programming to visitors. This program is in its third very successful year training CIGs in the southern New Jersey coastal region. The course is open to anyone age 16 or over with a desire to increase their knowledge and skills related to interpretation in any field, including environmental and wildlife education or culture, heritage and history education. National certification and membership in NAI is included in the cost of the program, current NAI members receive a discounted registration. Participants can also elect to take the training without becoming certified, although the certification is a valuable credential for staff members and volunteers at organizations offering interpretive programming.
